  • Use a copilot: It’s safest to drive with a buddy or family member when you have a road trip. Pull over every two hours and switch drivers, while the other takes a nap.
  • Don’t rush. If you are affected by drowsiness, speeding is the last thing you would want to do.
  • Do not drink alcohol. Alcohol will enhance drowsiness and will further impair your driving skills.
  • Drink caffeine: The use of caffeine can give a short-term boost to help you be more alert. Take a short nap after drinking some coffee. The nap gives you some rest, and it also gives the caffeine time to get in your system.
